Benefits of Judo and Jiu-Jitsu

Physical Toughness

Learn how to throw people, get thrown without getting hurt, grapple, and for those 13 and older, execute chokes and arm bars. At the same time you will train and condition your entire body.

Mental Toughness

Judo is an individual sport. Its just you and your opponent out on the mat. You will gain confidence in fighting someone bigger or more skilled than you and build mental capacities to overcome adversity when you are tired or getting beat.

Get In Shape

Judo will train and condition your entire body. In addition to a great core workout, your shoulders, back, legs, and forearms will become stronger and toned as a result of training to properly throw another judoka. We will help you obtain a higher level of overall physical fitness. Some say judo is better than cross fit!

Build Confidence

Learn how to fall and get thrown without getting hurt. Learn how to throw other players who are bigger than you with ease. Learn self defense skills. You’ll feel more confident as you train your body and mind to do things you never thought were possible.

Respect and Humbleness

Discipline and humility taught in the dojo can help children learn valuable lessons about respect. The more respectful they are, the more likely they are to succeed at Judo and life. In the dojo we promote discipline, controlled movements, knowing when to hold back force, and most importantly, Judo’s core principal of “Mutual Welfare and Benefit”.

Competition and Recreational Training

We train athletes of all levels. You may train with us to compete nationally, or just work out with the club to improve your overall judo, strength, and stamina. We welcome athletes of all skill levels and can accommodate your personal goals.

It’s a great club for our children to learn how to protect and discipline themselves, as well as to be respectful and helpful to others. We love and respect all the teachers there who are trying hard to make a difference in our kids lives.
